The why and when of a cellulite treatment
Right under the skin are fat cells. These fat cells store all the fat they can absorb and get bigger and bigger. With women, the buttocks and hips are a place where fat is easily deposited. These fat cells lie together in lumps surrounded by partitions of connective tissue. As the fat cells increase, these lumps bulge slightly, while other parts of the skin cannot expand because of the connective tissue strands, which is where a dent and thus Cellulite develops.
Cellulite is not dangerous, nor is it cause for concern. However it can bother you a lot. If it bothers you to much, that’s the moment for a consultation and the start of your cellulite treatment.
Permanent versus temporary cellulite treatments
Most non-invasive treatments for cellulite focus on temporarily stretching the connective tissue septa and redistributing fat cells between these septa. As a result, LPG Endermologie, connective tissue massage and various forms of cupping all produce temporary results, meaning the treatment must be repeated monthly or every two months to maintain the outcome.
The cellulite treatments developed by Mommy Skincare Clinic, on the other hand, are designed to remove cellulite permanently. By using existing techniques such as HIFU and Cryolipolysis, either individually or in combination, we ensure a reduction in fat cells and the ‘cutting’ of the connective tissue septa. As a result, stubborn cellulite is significantly reduced or even disappears completely.
Depending on the amount of fat and the depth of the cellulite, either cryolipolysis or HIFU is used. In some cases, a combination of both cryolipolysis and HIFU is used to achieve a combined result. However, these are administered on different treatment days to prevent the two treatments from counteracting each other due to the difference in cold and heat applied to the skin.
Both the cellulite treatment with Cryolipolysis and the treatment with the HIFU are followed by a treatment course of artichoke supplements. These accelerate the removal of waste products and broken-down fat cells in the body.
The cellulite treatment with the Clatuu alpha
For deeper-lying cellulite, the cellulite treatment is performed with the Clatuu alpha. Our skin therapist treats the affected area with the Clatuu Alpha. The Clatuu is currently the most effective and safest method for fat freezing, as it can cool 360° all around, the skin is protected with gel pads. During the treatment, a headpiece is placed on the area to be treated, after which subcutaneous fat is frozen in about 50 minutes. Two zones can be treated at once per treatment, reducing the number of treatment moments required.
After the gel pads are applied to the skin, the headpieces are applied. These attach themselves to the skin through a vacuum, sucking the fat into the head. Then, cooling causes the subcutaneous fat to freeze to -9° Celsius within the span of 50 minutes. After the cryotherapy treatment, the skin therapist massages the skin to stimulate circulation and loosen the frozen fat, which collectively ensures even better results.
The cellulite treatment with the Ultraformer III
For a superficial form of cellulite, treatment is performed with the HIFU (Ultraformer III). Our skin therapist treats the skin with different ‘heads’ of the HIFU which act on the deeper fat layers of the skin. The heat generated there breaks down both the fat and the partitions.
The skin is smeared with a gel to properly conduct the sound waves from the HIFU, after which our skin therapist applies overlapping pulses to the skin with the treatment head of the HIFU. This creates a warm feeling in the skin.
After the entire area has been treated, the gel is removed.
What body parts can be treated for cellulite?
Cellulite is a specific condition that occurs mainly on buttocks, legs and thighs. We thus treat cellulite on all those body parts. Both the Cryolipolysis treatment and the HIFU cellulite treatment are performed on these body parts. However, fat must also be present on the areas. The most common areas are:

Preparation
Before the treatment, it is advisable to take a 14-day course of supplements in the form of an oral shot, which removes fluids and waste products. You may notice this by passing more urine. We also recommend this course of treatment after the treatment, as the treatment removes more toxins and fat, which is supported by the shots.
After care
After the cryotherapy treatment, your body goes to work. The frozen fat and waste products are removed by your lymphatic system and will eventually be carried out of your body with the faeces. In this process, your stools may be slightly slimier/greasier for a period of time. The treated areas may also feel a little sore for a few days after treatment, similar to mild muscle pain. The area treated by cryolipolysis is numb for about a week because the nerves are numb. However, this disappears completely within 2 weeks. Very rarely, a bruise may also appear on the treated area.
The evening after cryotherapy, you can massage the area again to stimulate blood flow. This ensures additional effectiveness of the treatment. We also recommend 30 minutes of active exercise in the first 24 hours after the cellulite treatment. After fat freezing, there are no restrictions on what you can and cannot do.
After the cellulite treatment using HIFU, the skin remains warm to the touch for several days. This is a sign that the body remains active there in recovery. It is therefore important that the skin is not cooled so that the heat does not lose its effect. Furthermore, after the cellulite treatment with the HIFU, normal living and sports are allowed.
Results after the cellulite treatment
The results of cellulite treatment via cryotherapy speak for themselves. Not only is the cellulite reduced, but localised fat is also reduced. A win-win situation. which even gets better, due to the overlap with skin tightening procedures, the cellulite treatment also lifts the legs and buttocks.
Results become visible after about 8 weeks. Depending on the ‘severity’ of the cellulite, 1-2 treatments will be needed. If a second treatment is needed, it will take place after about 10 weeks.
