Hormones are our body’s balance. Too much or too little and that balance is disturbed with all its consequences. In women, the hormone balance fluctuates a lot. We have a 24-hour rhythm, a monthly cycle, but pregnancy and (pre)menopause can also trigger a lot. Hormone balance can also be disturbed in several other situations.
Hormone imbalance has intense effects both in the body and on the skin. In the context of better prevention than cure, Mommy Skincare Clinic, in collaboration with Healthy Habits, focuses on hormone therapy to restore the body’s balance, resulting in a healthy and fit body.
The why and when of hormone therapy?
An imbalance in the body due to disrupted hormones produces a variety of symptoms. The imbalance is often caused by external and internal factors , such as wrong diet, xenoestrogens, stress and the use of contraception, among others. As a result, among other things, the cycle does not run normally and you may experience complaints such as PMS, irregular or heavy menstruation, menopause complaints, fatigue, fertility problems, mood and sleep problems and skin complaints.
In all these cases, it is wise to enter into a consultation for hormone therapy.
How do you recognise symptoms of hormone imbalance?
Because hormones affect almost all reactions in our body, the complaints associated with hormone imbalance are also legion.
One of the most drastic is a disturbed, or absent, monthly cycle/dilation. But this is certainly not the only complaint.
Even with a regular cycle, there are complaints that can indicate hormone imbalance. Common in these are (extreme) forms of irritability, forgetfulness/‘brain fog’ or excessive bleeding during menstruation.
Besides menstrual complaints, unexplained weight gain, decreased libido, general fatigue and/or depression and hormonal hair loss, among others, are complaints that can be caused by hormone imbalance.
Hormone therapy: how does it work?
As with all the processes at Mommy Skincare Clinic, the client is at the centre of it all. During a comprehensive consultation, an anamnesis is taken, during which your (physical) history is discussed in detail.
After taking the anamnesis, various tests are performed to gain a clear understanding of your body’s hormone balance. These include the following examinations:
- Blood test
- DNA test
- Faecal examination
- Sputum examination
Based on these tests, a personal treatment plan is drawn up focusing on lifestyle, nutrition and any additional supplements needed to restore your hormone balance.
Of course, we guide you through your new lifestyle, to help you successfully implement those much-needed adjustments in your life.
Preparation
Prior to the first consultation, our therapists will indicate what preparations are needed. This can range from a diet report to a lifestyle report. Everything to have as much useful and necessary information clear as possible prior to the consultation.
Results of hormone therapy
The results of hormone therapy can be both seen and felt. The body gradually recovers, so that on the outside the skin looks and feels visibly better. Better hydrated, fuller skin, without inflammation and/or acne.
But in particular, it makes itself felt. By restoring hormone balance, complaints such as forgetfulness/‘brain fog’, irritability, fatigue and lowered libido are remedied. You feel fit again and are more firm and balanced in life.
Rates
