HIFU Face

A tightening treatment of your face with the Ultraformer 3 HIFU is the method to naturally bring your face back in to shape. Over the years, the skin in the face slackens, causing wrinkles but also causing the skin itself to droop. The Ultraformer counteracts this by using sound waves to stimulate the lower skin (dermis) to repair itself. The skin tightens like a rubber band touched with a hot needle. It also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin in the skin, making it plumper and more elastic. The result is a tight, full and glowing skin.

When to have a HIFU face treatment?

The Ultraformer 3 is the Rolls Royce among HIFU devices, making it the ultimate, natural treatment to tackle wrinkles, sagging skin and lines on the face. However, excessive fat in the cheeks (bulging cheeks) or below the jawline (double chin) can also be properly treated with the HIFU facial treatment. 

By using different treatment heads, different layers in the skin are treated. This allows very precise reshaping of the face. Tight jawline, no more double chin and/or no more wrinkles: all in one treatment.

The HIFU facial treatment with the Ultraformer 3

HIFU treatment is always performed by our BIG/KP-registered skin therapists. Depending on the aim of the treatment, different treatment heads will be used to stimulate the skin. Prior to this, a sound-conducting gel is applied for even better transfer of energy into the skin. 

By using different treatment heads, results are achieved on different skin layers, which also reinforce each other. The treating skin therapist works meticulously so that all ‘pulses’ are contiguous and the entire area is evenly stimulated. 

Due to the ‘stacking’ of warmth in the skin, the skin may become slightly sensitive. This soon subsides after the treatment.

Which areas of the face are treated the HIFU?

The entire face as well as the neck can be treated with the Ultraformer |||. Areas treated on the face include laugh lines, lines and sagging skin. In the neck, sagging skin (the famous ‘turkey neck’) or the double chin are often treated. In summary, the following treatments can be performed using HIFU:

HIFU during pregnancy

During pregnancy, HIFU is not recommended.

HIFU during breastfeeding

HIFU treatment is completely safe during breastfeeding. Only the breasts themselves cannot be treated while breastfeeding. This is simply because the breasts have not yet returned to their natural shape, and the effect of treatment after the breasts have shrunk again will be gone.

HIFU treatment face in men

Although men are less affected by skin sagging due to hormonal changes, we also treat many men (and dads) at Mommy Skincare Clinic. Both laugh lines, double chin and sagging jawline are common HIFU treatments in men. So yes, HIFU works well for men too.

Preparation for HIFU facial treatments 

As the treatment can become sensitive over time due to ‘accumulation’ of heat, 2 paracetamol can be taken about half an hour before the treatment. Otherwise, no preparation is needed for the HIFU facial treatment.

Aftercare

HIFU treatment leaves the epidermis intact, so no further aftercare is needed for the skin. The warmth still remains in the skin, but this does not prevent anyone from carrying out daily activities again after the treatment. 

However, it is important that the skin is not cooled by, for example, a cold shower, ice bath or cold packs. The warmth that remains in the skin actually intensifies the effect of the treatment.

HIFU treatment before and after: the results

Immediately after treatment, the skin is already a lot tighter. That is the immediate effect of the Ultraformer 3, however, this also usually recedes after a day or 2. Final results are seen between 6 and 8 weeks. The skin is then tightened, but also more elastic and ‘fuller’. This is a long-term lasting result.
