Cryolipolysis

Cryolipolysis, or cryotherapy, is a fat freezing treatment for subcutaneous fat in the body. With the Clatuu Alpha, fat reduction is achieved by freezing subcutaneous fat. Cellulite, in which fat cells are also the cause, we also treat with the Cryolipolysis. After these fat cells are frozen, the body clears it itself through the lymphatic system. The effect is long-lasting given that ‘apoptosis’ (cell death of the fat cells) takes place. The frozen fat can also no longer ‘fill up’, resulting in a permanently slimmer body.

Why freeze fat via cryolipolysis treatment?

Most people know so-called ‘problem areas’ in the body, where fat does not get rid of. Well-known areas are the lower abdomen, the ‘love handles’ and the thighs. The accumulated fat there struggles to disappear, even with intensive dieting and/or exercise.

In this regard, cryolipolysis treatment with the Clatuu Alpha offers a so-called ‘non-invasion’ treatment within fat freezing. Unlike liposuction, the skin remains intact, so several negative complications do not occur with cryolipolysis. This makes cryotherapy the safe way to achieve fat reduction in awkward areas of the body.

How does cryolipolysis treatment with the Clatuu Alpha work?

Our skin therapists treat the individual area or areas during one or more treatments with the Clatuu Alpha. The Clatuu is currently the most effective and safest method of fat freezing. During the treatment, a headpiece is placed on the zone to be treated, after which subcutaneous fat is frozen in about 50 minutes. Per treatment, 2 zones can be treated at once for fat freezing, reducing the number of treatment times required. We also have different heads for each area of the body so that the zones are treated very specifically and precisely.

After protective gel pads are applied to the skin, the heads are applied. These attach themselves to the skin through a vacuum, sucking the fat into the head. Then, cooling causes the subcutaneous fat to freeze to -9° Celsius within the span of 50 minutes. After the cryotherapy treatment, the skin therapist massages the skin to stimulate circulation and loosen the frozen fat, which collectively ensures even better results.

Which body parts can be treated for fat reduction?

Basically, all body parts with subcutaneous fat can be treated with cyrolipolysis treatment. Common areas for fat freezing are:

• the (lower) abdomen;
• the lower back (love handles);
• the upper back (bra edges);
• thighs (inner and outer);
• and upper arms/shoulders.

In our experience, abdominal fat freezing and lovehandle fat freezing are the most common.Our skin therapists will go through the options for each area with you.

Cryolipolysis with the Clatuu Alpha in women

Women have their own specific ‘problem locations’ with regard to fat storage. The hips, parts of the abdomen, as well as the bra edges are areas that qualify for fat reduction in women. However, underarms, and the inner thighs are also common areas treated to freeze fat using cryolipolysis with the Clatuu Alpha.

Many times it involves abdominal fat freezing, or freezing the fat of the love handles.

Cryotherapy with the Clatuu Alpha in men

Men have their own areas where fat reduction is desirable. Freezing abdominal fat in the lower abdomen, the so-called beer belly, freezing fat on the flanks (love-handles) and freezing fat on the inner thighs are common cryolipolysis treatments at our clinic. These locations are difficult to achieve in terms of fat reduction through lines or exercise, but can be treated effectively with fat freezing. Cryotherapy is particularly effective precisely there, making the fat disappear there.

Preparation

You do not need to do anything for the treatment; we will make sure everything is in order before you sit down on our comfortable treatment table.

After care

After the cryotherapy treatment for fat freezing, your body goes to work. The frozen fat is drained by your lymphatic system and will eventually be carried out of your body with the faeces. In this process, your stools may be slightly slimier for a period of time. The areas treated by fat freezing may also feel sore for a few days after the treatment, similar to mild muscle pain. The area treated by cryolipolysis is numb for about a week because the nerves are numb. However, this disappears completely within 2 weeks.

The evening after cryotherapy, you can massage the area again to stimulate blood flow. This ensures additional effectiveness of the treatment. We also recommend active exercise for at least 30 minutes in the first 24 hours after cryolipolysis.

After fat freezing, there are no restrictions on what you can and cannot do.

Cryolipolysis results with the Clatuu Alpha

The results of fat freezing via cryotherapy speak for themselves.The body gains shape after just a few weeks, after which 12 weeks the first full results are visible. After a few treatments, the subcutaneous fat will have practically disappeared, depending on the starting situation. Obviously, the starting situation (how much fat there is to freeze) is leading in this. In many cases, the result is considered a great success already after 1 treatment.

Fat reduction results after 1 treatment

The results after 1 treatment are already extremely good. When freezing abdominal fat, we see the result after just one treatment in several centimetres of loss in abdominal girth and a tighter front and side view of the abdomen.

When freezing the fat on the love handles and thighs, the result after just one treatment is such that trousers are roomier and the ‘bulges’ are much less present/visible, both in clothes and in swimwear.

Freezing fat in other areas of the body such as bra edges or the inside of the legs also gives very good results after just 1 treatment.
