The why and when of a Desirial treatment?
Vaginal dryness does not necessarily lead to discomfort. However, it turns out that most women experience chafing, irritation and pain during sports, intimacy but also during daily activities.
When this discomfort and/or pain gets the upper hand, it is desirable to do something about it. The Desirial treatment quickly reduces or even completely eliminates vaginal dryness and the associated complaints.
Besides treating vaginal dryness, the Desirial treatment also improves the elasticity of the vaginal wall, making intimacy and intercourse more pleasurable.
The Desirial treatment
The Desirial treatment is a relatively simple treatment. After being welcomed with a cup of coffee or tea, you will be escorted to one of our treatment rooms. Our female doctor will initially numb the location to be treated, to avoid any discomfort during the treatment itself.
Once the anaesthetic has done its job, the doctor will put the Desirial injections into the mucous membrane at the beginning of the vaginal wall. This does not require a speculum. The injections are placed with a very fine and small needle, so the inconvenience is minimal.
The Desirial treatment against vaginal dryness takes 35 to 45 minutes, including reception and anaesthesia.
The treatment is repeated after 3 months, after which one treatment a year is advised.
Preparation for the Desirial treatment
The Desirial treatment cannot be performed in case of a fissure/crack in the vagina. This will have to heal before the treatment can be performed.
Furthermore, the vaginal dryness treatment does not require any preparation on your part.
Aftercare
In the first five days after treatment, it is important to rest the vaginal region. Cycling (including spinning, etc.), sauna visits and vaginal sex are not allowed during this period.
